Two Boats

Two boats got stuck in a storm together.

Unaware of each other,

Trying to escape, but sinking deeper.

They started in calm waters

where everything was pleasant.

It was all serene.

Now that they were stuck together with nothing but each other's company,

They helped each other through the toughest times.

Although they were both stuck, they knew they had one another.

The storm settled, but the water was still rough.

One of them found its perfect home—a dock

and is now staying.

The other boat still needs to find its way.

They wave at each other and meet for one last time.

One has a home now, and one is out in the open.

Once they were both in the wild, together.

There is uncertainty now and a void.

Together, they could have faced the winds.

But they have made their choice.

None of them have sorrows.

They move past that point.

Now, it's up to the other boat

to sail into the unknown.

A Perspective World

I thought of bringing her outside of her cage today. I opened the door and held her in my palm. The grip wasn't too tight and so she flew away from my hand, down from the balcony. As I looked down, she was sitting on a path across our house, perturbed and confounded. I rushed down, grabbed her and brought her back but for the time she was in the open, she didn't fly, she didn't move. She was just sitting there, frightened and confused. She had no idea about how the outside world functions, how you have to hunt and fight for survival. For her, the world is confined to her cage. The world is wha...
